SETH

SHARED

I think it is a combination of shahar (“gate”) and yared (“descent”).

This etymology fits Shared, who was pretty much the GATE of Coriantumr’s and the whole Jaredite nation’s DESCENT into destruction. In the second year, Ether came to Coriantumr and urged him to repent or else. Coriantumr refused to repent, and then a few months later, he got Shared rising up.

The brother of Shared’s name is hidden at first. It’s Gilead, which means “rocky region” or a “pile of stones” (as a witness).

Shared, the gate into descent at the hill or pile of stones contrasts the gate of God at the circle of stones at the great tower. One is descension, the other ascension.
