Well, I’ve gone and started a podcast called Mormon Theories, where I interview people who have interesting theories and research about anything in Mormonism (Latter-day Saintism). On the blog you’re reading, Science Is True and the Church is Too, I share my theories, but on the podcast, I share other people’s theories.
I’ve published 4 episodes so far, and it has been a blast. I’ve always been super curious about what other people think about the gospel, and this podcast allows me to learn from them. Joseph Smith said we should embrace all true principles out there, and this podcast is part of my attempt to do so.
On the podcast, we’ve already had conversations about human evolution, the fall of Adam and Eve, the Word of Wisdom, Book of Mormon geography, Adam-God, multiple mortal probations, channeled texts, the Book of Ben Kathryn, the age of the earth, Noah’s flood, Joseph Smith as the Holy Ghost, and many more things… And we’re only 4 episodes into this so far. It’s been awesome.
I don’t personally agree with everything that is presented in these interviews, but it’s great to let people share what they’ve studied and what they think. “I want the liberty of thinking and believing as I please,” said Joseph Smith, “It feels so good not to be trammelled. It does not prove that a man is not a good man because he errs in doctrine.” I’m not there to debate, but to learn others’ viewpoints, and to bring people together; and it’s been an incredibly positive experience.
“Get all the good in the world. Come out a pure Mormon.”—Joseph Smith
